Tottenham Hotspur: Glenn Hoddle claims Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is ‘perfect’ for Jose Mourinho

In a recent interview with the Evening Standard, Glenn Hoddle revealed that he did not like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as a footballer upon Tottenham Hotspur’s signing of him, but he now believes the 25-year-old is ‘perfect’ for Jose Mourinho’s side.
Since joining Spurs from Southampton in a £14.94 million deal back in August, Hojbjerg has highly impressed over his 11 Premier League appearances for the club, with the defensive midfielder making an average of 2.9 tackles, 0.9 interceptions and 2.4 clearances per game, as well as making an average of 72 passes per fixture, culminating in a WhoScored rating of 7.02 – ranking him as the club’s fifth-best player in the top flight.
However, Spurs legend Hoddle recently revealed that he was not a fan of the Denmark international upon his signing for Tottenham, but he is now convinced the midfielder is the ideal player for the style of football Mourinho has the club playing.
Speaking to the Evening Standard, Hoddle said: “I did not like him when I first saw him arrive. I was not sure about him and whether he was a Tottenham type of player. But the style of Tottenham has changed and Jose Mourinho is stamping his authority on it.
“He is the perfect Jose Mourinho player – to sit in there, destroy and keep things ticking, he never gives it away, keeps it simple, he is a leader, a talker, he will do the nasty things, the hard graft.”
Do you think that Hojbjerg has been Tottenham's best player so far this season?

As Hoddle suggests, Hojbjerg does indeed seem to be a perfect fit for Mourinho’s side, and it would appear that the 57-year-old shares this belief, as, so far this season, the £22.5 million-rated midfielder has not missed a minute of Premier League football.
And, considering that Spurs currently top the Premier League table, boasting the third-best attacking record and the best defensive record in the league, the effect of Hojbjerg on the Tottenham team is clear for all to see.
