The Spurs supporters here in the Transfer Tavern have been a vocal bunch during this season and they currently look to be well in the chase for a Champions League return next season.
There has however been some bad news for the Spurs supporters to digest today, with our landlord spotting in The Daily Mail some news that has confirmed Jan Vertonghen will be missing for ‘several weeks’ after twisting his knee during Saturday’s win at Crystal Palace.
The Belgian international twisted awkwardly after being elbowed in the face by Palace striker Connor Wickham and was subsequently taken off for a scan, which has now revealed the damage.
One Spurs supporter is puffing away on his e-cigarette in the Tavern and believes Kevin Wimmer is more than capable of stepping-up in the central defender’s absence and is hopeful that Spurs won’t feel the loss too much.
