Crystal Palace fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have been delighted with their summer transfer business, but now they simply cannot wait for the window to close.
That is after our landlord read out a report from the Daily Mail that claims star winger Yannick Bolasie is stalling on a new contract at Selhurst Park, following reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Bolasie really came into his own during the second half of last season following the appointment of Alan Pardew, so much so that the Palace boss has slapped a £25 million price tag on his head in an attempt to scare off potential buyers.
But Bolasie is understood to have had his head turned by the prospect of a move to White Hart Lane, where Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is eager to complete some late transfers after a quiet window so far.
Bolasie currently earns around £20,000 a week at Selhurst Park, and is asking for a figure of more than double that to sign on the dotted line.
The winger is holding out for £45,000 a week, an offer that so far Palace have been unwilling to match – further encouraging Tottenham to make their move.
Our resident Tottenham fans here in the Transfer Tavern feel that Bolasie would be an excellent signing for the club, with them all hoping that Pochettino can work his magic and seal a deal for the exciting attacker!
