Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are disappointed with the weekend’s results, as their draw with Liverpool saw them concede an advantage to north London rivals Arsenal and fall further behind Leicester City, but there’s more optimism about the planned summer activity.
The Daily Express states Tottenham are the latest club to express their interest in 20-year-old Ajax ace Anwar El Ghazi, who’s performances have already earned him two senior appearances for Holland at his young age.
A talented wide-player, El Ghazi has contributed ten goals to Ajax’s Eredivisie push this season and is considered one of the most exciting talents in world football, which has caught the attention of Manchester United, Liverpool and AC Milan.
Crucially though, that interested trio are all likely to miss out on Champions League football next term, whereas Tottenham are set to enjoy a return to Europe’s elite competition next season following their remarkable campaign.
Whilst Ajax do not want to sell, their asking price of just £12m is easy for Spurs to match and Pochettino is in the market for talented forwards to ease the burden on star-man Harry Kane next season, who set a Spurs Premier League record at the weekend with his 22nd goal of the season.
