Tottenham Hotspur: Lilywhites agree fee with Juventus for Paulo Dybala

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a fee with Serie A champions Juventus for attacker Paulo Dybala, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

It is now thought to be down to Dybala to agree to terms with Tottenham over a move to last season’s Champions League finalists.

The Argentine saw a move to Manchester United collapse last week after concerns from the Premier League club over a number of issues.

The Argentina international was forming part of a swap deal that would have seen Romelu Lukaku go the opposite way.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for numerous attacking players this summer. They have been linked with a move for Real Betis star Giovani Lo Celso, however, are thus far refusing to meet the Spanish club’s asking price of €75m (roughly £69m). A move for Sporting CP star Bruno Fernandes has been touted, with the North London club said to have sent officials to Lisbon to strike a deal.

Dybala could be the attacking spark that Tottenham crave, especially with Christian Eriksen angling for a move to Spain. The 25-year-old was one of the chief creators for the Turin-based club last season, completing on average 1.7 key passes per game, the joint-second most in the squad. He also showed his threat in front of goal averaging 2.2 shots per game, which saw him score 10 goals in just 30 starts.

Dybala would be a quality signing for Tottenham this summer; he would provide a good attacking threat. Also, he is younger than Eriksen so has scope to improve and surpass him.

Outside of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Lucas Moura, only Christian Eriksen was a major attacking threat. The Dane provided 26 goals in the Champions League and Premier League, and with him wanting to leave the club, he needs to be replaced properly.

Dybala showed with his 108 goal contributions in just 182 games for Juventus that he has the talent to take over from Eriksen.

With Eriksen looking to move on he needs to be replaced adequately and Dybala is a player who could perform to the same level as the Denmark international.
