Tottenham Hotspur lining up swoop for Columbian world cup ace?

Fredy Guarin Some exciting news for Tottenham fans with a week to go until the new season, as it looks like Mauricio Pochettino’s pursuit to re-shape the current squad and put his mark on the team is set to continue.

talkSPORT are today reporting that Tottenham still very much have a chance of signing 29-year old midfielder Fredy Guarin who is looking set to be on the move away from Serie A side Inter Milan.

This comes after the Columbian international, who played a pivotal role in their world cup campaign, reportedly rejected the chance to join Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.

With Guarin’s agent also confirming there has not been any contact with Juventus, Spurs could well find themselves at the top of the pecking order if they put in a high enough bid.

Our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern likes the idea of this one: “They have got rid of a fair few midfielders now, Guarin is real quality and what they need”.

A small group of Spurs fans completely agree with the landlord, and feel Guarin’s experience can only be a beneficial for the club as they try and cement place in the top four of the Premier League next season.
