Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen is a wanted man according to the Daily Mail, with PSG now interested in signing the Danish star along with Real Madrid.
Eriksen has been the subject of ongoing interest over the last six months, but he stayed put in the Premier League in the summer and has gone on to be selected as usual by manager Mauricio Pochettino this season.
However, news of further interest in the Spurs star from a club like PSG will only further stoke the fire that surrounds Eriksen’s future with the club, given the spending power of the French champions.
Eriksen has been far from his best this term as Spurs have struggled in general and has netted just the once in the top-flight as the pressure has further increased on striker Harry Kane to continue to deliver the goods.
His performances are in stark contrast to the form he showed last season, where he notched eight goals and contributed 12 Premier League assists, while also playing a crucial role in the team as they finished runners-up in the Champions League. Indeed, pundits such as Alan Hutton and Martin Lipton have been critical over the former Ajax man at different points of this campaign.
PSG have a continued concern over whether Neymar will stay put with the club, with constant rumours surrounding the Brazilian’s future with the club emerging on an almost weekly basis.
Eriksen and the rumours over this future don’t seem to be going away any time soon and it would be a big surprise to see him still in London come the end of this season given his current contract status.
His form has dipped this season, so Mauricio Pochettino has a big decision to make in terms of if he keeps hold of the midfielder or does indeed cash in while he can. Either way, it doesn’t seem as if he has much of a future in North London.
