Tottenham Hotspur set to land long-term target in the summer

Saido Berahino The Tottenham Hotspur supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern are extremely hopeful that their team can pull off a major shock and win the Premier League title this season.

Nonetheless they are still relatively happy at the progress made under boss Mauricio Pochettino and are eagerly looking towards next season and beyond.

A group of Spurs fans are checking out the daily news when they come across an article in the Daily Mail, that suggests a long-term target looks set to finally join the club in the summer.

West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino looks set to finally sign for Spurs in the summer, at a slashed price of £12 million.

It is thought that the Baggies will accept the lower valuation in order to avoid losing the 22-year-old for considerably less once his contract expires the following year.

One Spurs fan is sat chatting with the landlord at the bar and he rates Berahino highly but remains unconvinced that the player is good enough to feature in the Champions League for Spurs next season.

Spurs fans… Is Berahino good enough for the team? Will he act as backup only? Who else should the club look to sign?
