Tottenham Hotspur striker set to depart White Hart Lane

Soldado.jpgThe news that is pouring into the Transfer Tavern today, almost as quickly as the pints, is making fans of Tottenham Hotspur a little bit confused and disgruntled.

As one striker in the form of Clinton N’Jie looks set to sign for the North London outfit, another, and a big name at that, looks set to be heading out of the exit door White Hart Lane.

The Guardian, amongst many other reliable sources, are reporting that Roberto Soldado who not so long ago cost the club £30 million, is on the verge of signing a deal to take him back to La Liga and play for Spanish club side Villarreal.

A player who has struggled to adjust to life in the Premier League since his big money move from Valencia spent last season in the shadow of Harry Kane and it now seems he has had enough of life in England.

Our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern had this to say: “No point keeping him in my opinion, he has never done much in his time at the club from what I’ve seen!”

What do you think Spurs fans? Is Soldado a loss to you? Or is it good to get rid of him? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
