Lyon defender Samuel Umtiti has declared that he is flattered to receive interest from Tottenham Hotspur but concedes that his style of defending is more suited to Spanish football, according to an article in the London Evening Standard.
The Spurs fans were dancing in the beer garden last weekend when it was announced that the strapping central defender could be on his way to White Hart Lane, although those celebrations could have been somewhat premature.
The club will look to sign top quality players in the summer to give them the best possible chance of progress in the Champions League, with Umtiti seemingly identified as a top target.
A group of Spurs supporters are gathered around a table in the Tavern eagerly anticipating their huge game against Chelsea this evening.
One of the die-hards believes that whilst Umtiti is clearly a good player, he questions whether or not the club should be putting all of their efforts into signing a central defender, when the club already has three solid players in that position.
Spurs fans, what do you know about Samuel Umtiti? Can he improve the current squad?
