Tottenham Hotspur target UCL talent to directly replace £60m man

Tottenham Hotspur fans here in The Transfer Tavern are loving life under Mauricio Pochettino right now and are eagerly anticipating next season, believing they can mount a serious English Premier League title challenge.

In order to achieve those ambitions, Spurs will have to navigate a tricky transfer window in which massive clubs will be sniffing around their in-form talent.

One such talent is Kyle Walker, who The Daily Mirror report is a £60m target for Manchester City this summer. Walker has been a key part of Pochettino’s system this season and if they do decide to cash in on their defensive asset then they will need an elite replacement.

Step forward Paris Saint-Germain’s Serge Aurier, who The Mirror say is the man Spurs are lining up to take Walker’s place in the first team.

With just two years left on his contract and with stiff competition for appearances in Paris this season, it could be the perfect time for the Ivory Coast international to make his mark in the Premier League.

Aurier made 32 appearances for PSG this season, including five in the UEFA Champions League, demonstrating he has the quality to have a positive effect at Spurs.

With supporters standing by the bar here eager to see significant silverware delivered next season, they’ll need players with that kind of experience coming into the club.

Spurs fans – what do you think of replacing Walker with Aurier? Is it good business by the club or are you hoping to see the England international stay at the club?
