Tottenham Hotspur to beat Liverpool to the signing of talented attacker?

Pochettino fails to strengthen in January Tottenham Hotspur fans have good reason to put down their pints and crack a smile or two here in the Tavern, despite their opening day defeat at the hands of Manchester United.

The Metro are reporting that Mauricio Pochettino is considering a bid for talented Real Betis attacker Alvaro Vadillo.

The Spurs boss is said to be a long term admirer of the silky player, having registered his interest this January but little came of this initial enquiry.

Now, however, with Liverpool also reportedly interested in the 20-year old’s signature, Tottenham are preparing a £17 million offer to the Spanish club in order to meet the player’s release clause.

Some Spurs fans playing snooker stopped and had their say here in the Tavern: “I think we could really do with Vadillo, he looks tidy on the ball and at the moment.. if we lose Kane to injury.. what then? we look a bit ordinary in my opinion!”
