Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a busy week as they look to secure signings to increase their chances of Premier League success but the lads by the jukebox are disappointed that the most likely deal is regarding an exit.
The Daily Express states that Schalke are not giving up hope in their quest to land Kevin Wimmer from Tottenham Hotspur, with the Austrian international struggling to make an impression following a switch to North London last summer.
Wimmer only made his Premier League debut as a second-half substitute in Tottenham’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace and, speaking to Sky Germany, Schalke’s chief Clemens Toennies revealed that a deal is extremely likely to be agreed.
“Our focus is on Kevin Wimmer and John-Anthony Brooks (Berlin). We are in advanced talks with both of them.”
Our landlord believes that’s the right call from Mauricio Pochettino, with Spurs still actively involved in three competitions.
Spurs fans, does Wimmer deserve more opportunities? Let us know in the comments below!
