Tottenham fans have been left in shock after news reported by Graeme Yorke from Mail Online that the White Hart Lane club are lining up a move for former Arsenal favourite and Barcelona outcast Alex Song in the summer.
Yorke reports that Tottenham are ready to move for the 25-year-old defensive midfielder if the club can qualify for the Champions League, a case strengthened by yesterday’s impressive 3-1 victory over defending Premier League champions Manchester City.
Reports suggest that Spurs and Daniel Levy are ready to let midfield trio of Scott Parker, Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore depart the club during the summer and that will leave space for an extra midfielder with Song no doubt the sort of calibre that Spurs require to become a top European club.
Song, who moved to Spain in a £15 million deal in the summer, has grown increasingly frustrated with life at the Camp Nou with fleeting substitute appearances the best he can muster and he would entertain moving back to England where he was such a success at the Emirates Stadium.
However Spurs could face fierce competition for his signature with a whole host of Premier League interested in bringing the Cameroonian back to the Premier League, including his former club.
Will Song risk the wrath of Arsenal fans by signing for Tottenham this summer? Rate this rumour below.
