A rumour spreading like wildfire at The Football Transfer Tavern last week was that Tottenham had made an offer for young Nancy left back Massadio Haidara however Sky Sports journalist Simone Bargellini came by to disappoint the Spurs punters.
After speaking with Nancy Sports Director Eric Martin, Bargellini stood on a bar stool to declare that there is no solid interest from White Hart Lane in the highly rated 20-year-old defender.
The French Under-21 international, who has 18 months left on him contract at the Ligue 1 club, is also believed to be interesting Serie A club Fiorentina, however the French club have been quick to dismiss any rumours.
Martin told Sky Sports: “Fiorentina and Tottenham chasing Haidara? There are many clubs interested in him, but for the moment we have not received concrete offers.”
The sports director said of the defender, who has also previously been linked with numerous Premier League clubs including Aston Villa: “I only know that the press have put out many declarations, but for now Massadio remains a Nancy player.”
With a £6.5 million valuation placed on the defender’s talents, don’t be too surprised to see his name linked with Spurs again despite the protestations against a move from the French side.
