Tottenham interested in Hector Herrera

Tottenham Hotspur appear to be looking ahead to the January transfer window already after failing to land any new additions during the summer.

According to a report by Calciomercato, Spurs are interested in bringing Porto midfielder Hector Herrera to the Premier League once the transfer market re-opens.

It is believed there will be no shortage of potential suitors for the Mexico international, with the likes of AS Roma also thought to be keen on him.

The 28-year-old has starred for Porto during his five years at the club and helped guide them to a Primeira Liga title last season.

He continued his impressive performances for the Portuguese outfit during the World Cup when he represented Mexico and showcased his ability in the midfield areas.

Spurs and Mauricio Pochettino would be keen on adding to the middle of the park, with the future of Mousa Dembele thought to be in the air.

The Verdict:

Herrera would be an excellent addition for Tottenham to make this summer, although it could be a difficult deal to make.

The £18million-rated ace, as per Transfermarkt, has become a key man for Porto since signing for them in 2013 and it could mean Spurs will need to splash out a considerable amount more than his valuation to land him in January.

There will be eyes on Tottenham in the winter to see if they do make any new additions, after failing to add anyone in the summer.
