Tottenham Hotspur managed to secure all three points against Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday, despite putting in a rather nervy performance.
The Lilywhites will be desperate to enjoy a positive run of form under Mauricio Pochettino, with the possibility of pushing for the title this season. And, it appears as if they’re looking to strengthen, as according to The Daily Star (via Sports Mole), Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Wilmar Barrios.
Spurs are reportedly interested in signing Colombia international midfielder Wilmar Barrios during the January transfer window.
And, the 25-year-old is thought to be keen to leave current club Boca Juniors when the transfer window reopens.
Barrios has a release clause of £16 million in his current contract at Boca, but Real Madrid are considering an offer of £20 million in order to beat any other potential suitors.
Interestingly, Spurs would rather avoid a bidding war which would drive his price up, but are understood to be lining up a move should Madrid’s interest not materialise into a concrete offer.
Wilmar Barrios was impressive at the World Cup and has been one of the standout performers for Boca Juniors, with a move to the Premier League being just rewards for his efforts.
Although, it appears as if Real Madrid are also desperate to secure his services at some point in the future, which means that Spurs could get priced out of a move.
