talkSPORT are offering the gossip in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening as they claim that Tottenham have been joined by Estudiantes and Spartak Moscow in the pursuit for Inter Milan defender Alvaro Pereira.
The Uruguay international, who has only made two league starts for Inter this term, is thought to be ready to depart the San Siro in January as he seeks to ensure his chances of making next summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
Spurs have been strongly linked with a move for the left back, having played with Jan Vertonghen out of position for the majority of the campaign and he could be on the club’s January radar.
It was always known in the tavern that CSKA had submitted an offer for the full back as they tried to fend off attention from Andre Villas-Boas, who worked with the 28-year-old during his trophy-leaden season at Porto in 2010/11.
But now Argentinian reports suggest that Estudiantes are eyeing an ambitious move for the defender, who previously spent three years in Argentina with Quilmes and Argentinos Juniors.
Tottenham supporters in the bar are now on tenterhooks as they wait to find out the destination for the defender, who would improve Villas-Boas’ side in both defence and attack given his ability to get forward from the full back position.
Do Spurs stand any chance of landing the former Porto man? Let us know your thoughts below.
