Tottenham Hotspur could do with adding another striker to their ranks in the summer in order to provide some much-needed cover for Harry Kane as Mauricio Pochettino looks to bring silverware to the club.
With the likes of Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen seemingly not up to the task, it would come as no surprise to see the club be linked with one of Europe’s exciting attackers.
What’s the News?
Calciomercato are claiming Tottenham are keeping tabs on Patrick Cutrone ahead of a possible move in the summer.
The AC Milan forward, who has nine goals so far this season, could be available for between €25million and €30million (£21.3m and £25.5m) as he struggles to make the first-team following the arrival of Krzysztof Piatek in January.
Cutrone could be the ideal player to help Pochettino solve his back-up striker concerns at Tottenham, with Kane likely to remain as his main option.
The 21-year-old is a similar type of player to the England international, as he likes to play off the shoulder of the last defender and make a run into the area, where if he gets the opportunity to have a shot, he rarely misses the target.
Despite being a little slow when it comes to running, he has quick feet and can move the ball very well, whilst he has the strength to help him fend off tackles from opposition defenders with relative ease.
Cutrone thrives in the air and is excellent when it comes to using his head, which makes him a dangerous prospect at set-pieces, whilst his movement is something that can also be extremely useful for Tottenham’s creative players.
It would be fair to say he could develop extremely well under Pochettino’s guidance, however, there would be doubts about whether he would want to join Spurs considering that he is unable to get game-time at Milan this season.
With the Argentine usually employing just one striker in his starting line-ups, it could be a similar situation in London for the young Italian.
Tottenham fans, would Cutrone be the answer to the club’s back-up striker role? Can you see him joining if that were the role he were to undertake? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
