I have heard that The Sun’s Charlie Wyett is in the Football Transfer Tavern a lot; however he always seems to be in on my days off, as I have never seen him, so I was delighted when he walked in today.
Charlie apparently always delivers on good transfer news and even though I was meant to be working, I just had to ask if he had any news and he certainly did.
According to Charlie, Tottenham Hotspur are set to renew their interest in Blackpool winger Thomas Ince but only if they lose Gareth Bale to Real Madrid.
Spurs, along with Liverpool and Cardiff City, have all been credited with interest in the £8 million-rated this summer (with the Bluebirds even having a bid accepted) but it sounds now like the North London club are ready to bring Paul Ince’s son back to the Premier League.
Despite it being Sunday night, there are a few punters in and the news that Charlie brings them, despite not being Tottenham fans, excites them. They believe the England national team will benefit from having Ince in the Premier League and that he is destined to become a future hero in the Three Lions shirt.
Right, as much as I’d enjoy chatting to Charlie all day he is now swarmed by customers who have just flooded in and well, I have work to be getting on with.
