Simon Jones from Mail Online has just arrived in the Football Transfer Tavern to inform Tottenham supporters, who are taking part in the tavern’s snooker competition, that Andre Villas-Boas is lining up a January move for Paris Saint-Germain starlet Adrien Rabiot.
The 18-year-old midfielder has made an impressive start to the season with the Ligue 1 giants and now Spurs could try to convince him to move to White Hart Lane when the transfer window opens again.
Earlier this summer Rabiot told LeSport1 that he was unsure if he would remain for the season in the French capital, saying: “I feel the coach has confidence in me in training and I have a good feeling with him.
“But that doesn’t mean I’m going to stay in Paris this season.”
He spent the latter part of the last term out on loan at Toulouse but admitted that isn’t something he wanted to do again, saying: “I won’t go out on loan so I don’t know yet. Before I decide I intend to have a discussion with coach.”
Rabiot came off the bench last weekend to save his current side against newly promoted Guingamp but he could struggle to gain regular playing time in Laurent Blanc’s star-studded team.
That could see Tottenham moving for the highly rated teenager as they look to build for the future following Gareth Bale’s departure to Real Madrid.
Will Spurs land the impressive youngster? And do they really have room for anymore midfielders? Let us know your thoughts below.
