Tottenham Hotspur failed to secure a positive result against Burnley as they were beaten 2-1 at Turf Moor, despite Harry Kane grabbing a goal on his return to action.
It’s safe to say that Spurs will find it almost impossible to climb back into the title race from here on in, so their main aim will be to cement a top four spot and progressing in the Champions League.
Interestingly, it appears as if the North London club are eyeing a possible swoop, as according to the print edition of the Sunday Mirror (via Sky Sports News Paper Talk page and Hammers.News), Spurs are lining up a move for Maxi Gomez.
It’s believed that Spurs have joined the race to sign Celta Vigo’s Maxi Gomez.
However, it looks as if Mauricio Pochettino will face a battle to sign the forward as London rivals West Ham United are expected to follow up their January interest.
Indeed, the Uruguayan has scored nine goals and provided five assists this season, so he could provide solid support for Harry Kane at the pinnacle of the attack.
Maxi Gomez, who is valued at £31.5 million (by Transfermarkt), has established himself as one of the rising stars over in Spain in the current campaign, so it comes as no surprise that Spurs are taking an interest.
Harry Kane has struggled for support at times in the current campaign, despite Fernando Llorente impressing, so it makes sense for Spurs to bring in another quality attacker.
