Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are coming to terms with the fact their challenge for the Premier League title may well be up but at least there’s some positive news on the transfer front.
The Daily Star states that Tottenham Hotspur will return for West Brom forward Saido Berahino this summer, with Mauricio Pochettino determined to bring in the England U21 international as a strike partner for Harry Kane.
Spurs have held long-term interest in Berahino’s services and failed with FOUR bids for the 22-year-old striker last summer.
However, the young striker sees his contract at West Brom expire at the end of next season and the forward looks set to leave the Hawthorns, despite Baggies boss Tony Pulis wanting to keep the Berahino at the club.
One of the sagas of the summer a year ago, the chase for Berahino’s signature at the end of the season should not be as dramatic and our landlord believes he could thrive in north London, with Pochettino utilising young players brilliantly during his reign in charge thus far.
Is Berahino good enough to play Champions League football next term? Let us know in the comments below!
