The excitement never seems to end for Tottenham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
This is after it was claimed by The Mirror that Andre Villas-Boas could well be looking to bring another world class signing into the club this January after eyeing Stephan El Shaarawy.
As our punters tuck into their pub special Sunday dinners, we sit down to discuss the potential move for the £20 million rated forward, and note that AVB may have to fight on his hands to land the creative player.
AC Milan see the Italian international as one of their brightest prospects and certainly would not be keen on letting him leave.
Add to that the fact that El Shaarawy is settled in Italy and is fully aware that playing Champions League football will help his international prospects in a World Cup year, and it seems that he may be well advised to stay with the Rossoneri.
Spurs have already signed the likes of Roberto Soldado and also Christian Eriksen this summer and have a wealth of talent already at the club.
However, there is still money left over from the sale of Gareth Bale, not to mention the fact that players like Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor are likely to be moved on in January meaning that there will be time and some more cash for another arrival.
As one of our punters notes before ordering another pint however, AVB may be better off placed in tracking Juventus forward Fernando Llorente who may be more attainable.
How realistic a chance do Tottenham have of landing El Shaarawy? They’ve managed to pull off some fantastic signings despite finishing fifth. Let us know your thoughts below.
