If Tottenham Hotspur had another creative force in the middle of the field pulling the strings like Christian Eriksen, there is no doubt the club would have been able to lift silverware in recent memory, especially with Harry Kane spearheading the attack.
And, according to a report by Tuttomercatoweb, it appears they could have an excellent chance of adding a player of the Denmark international’s type to their ranks next summer.
What’s the News?
Suso could be made available for transfer in the summer as AC Milan appear to have no plans on renewing his contract at the San Siro.
It is suggested that the Spain international wants to discuss new terms at the Serie A outfit, however, the leadership at the club are not convinced, including Gennaro Gattuso.
It is believed the 25-year-old could be available for around €40million (£34.3m), a figure that would not be considered too expensive for a player of his quality.
Suso is a lot better than he was in his previous stint in the Premier League where he struggled to make a real impact at Liverpool and could certainly be of use to a team like Tottenham.
Although Spurs have not necessarily found it difficult to create chances and score goals at times, the Spaniard would certainly be able to pull strings a little more and thrive with the likes of Eriksen and Dele Alli in an attacking role behind Kane, helping to take the pressure of the duo if one became unavailable.
Having recorded eight assists and five goals in Serie A this season, the €40m figure quoted could be ideal for a player who could also further develop under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino in north London.
It would appear that Tottenham will have to battle north-London rivals Arsenal and Atletico Madrid for his signature, but it would arguably be one they need to do to finally end their long trophy drought.
