Tottenham Hotspur must look to head into the transfer market this summer with the aims of bringing a striker to the club. With Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente failing to make a positive impression, the need to find a back-up to Harry Kane should be made a priority.
And, it appears Mauricio Pochettino could look to bring an experienced option to north London in an attempt to bolster his options up top.
What’s the News?
According to a report by Sky in Germany (Live Transfer Blog, Thursday 28 March 2019 12:13pm), Tottenham are understood to be battling it out with Inter Milan for Max Kruse.
The 31-year-old is out of contract in the summer as his deal with Werder Bremen expires and is expected to be on the move as the Bundesliga outfit appear set to miss out on European competition.
Tottenham need a new striker to come into the club in the summer and Kruse could be an excellent addition for Pochettino to make.
Firstly, he has been in fine form for Werder Bremen this season, having scored nine goals and providing his team-mates with seven assists, showing that he still has the quality to be able to play at the top level.
Although, that should not really come as a surprise, as the 31-year-old has a proven quality in front of goal and has always been able to be involved with finding the back of the net where ever he has played his football and on a consistent basis.
Tactically disciplined and incredibly hardworking, Kruse has the intelligence to take defenders out of the game and provide a killer ball for his team-mates to take advantage of.
Additionally, he is available on a free transfer which could appeal to the Premier League outfit. Spurs would not have to spend any of their allocated transfer budget on him and could then look to spend significantly more on improving another area of the pitch.
