Tottenham and Chelsea couldn’t have had any more differences in this season if they tried, with Spurs eyeing a shock Premier League title-winning campaign and Chelsea struggling to find themselves in the European spots, but they do share interest in one particular player.
The fans in the Transfer Tavern were surprised to hear the latest news reports, as The Sun states Tottenham have joined Chelsea and Manchester United in the hunt for excelling Bournemouth midfielder Matt Ritchie.
Scottish international Ritchie has been a shining light during Bournemouth’s inaugural Premier League season and has been a highlight of the Cherries rise since joining the club three-years ago, scoring 30 goals in 123 league games.
Bournemouth only signed Ritchie down to a new three-and-a-half-year deal last term but it’s believed manager Eddie Howe would not stand in the way of a lucrative move for the 26-year-old.
Sat 12 points above the relegation zone with seven games left to play, Bournemouth will feel they’ve down enough to retain their spot in the Premier League for next term and their current position of 13th puts them as the highest placed promoted club in the top-flight this season.
Spurs fans, would Ritchie be a decent summer recruit? Let us know in the comments below!
