Tottenham lynchpin continues to struggle with injury problem ahead of Chelsea clash

Tottenham fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can finish the season strongly, as they continue to fight for a Champions League spot.

Spurs have struggled with injuries throughout the current campaign as there seems to be a crisis in North London, with many of our local residents praying that there’s no more casualties from here on in.

Victor Wanyama has popped up with moments of brilliance in the current campaign, with his equaliser against Liverpool being a fond memory for many of our locals. Although, it looks as if Spurs will now have to keep a close eye on the midfielder, as the international break looks to have had a negative effect. Indeed, fitness expert Ben Dinnery has revealed some negative news for Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter.

According to Dinnery, Wanyama is managing an ongoing knee problem which forced an early return from international duty.

This is terrible news for Spurs fans as they could be without a key squad member for their crunch clash against Chelsea, with many of our local residents now fearing the worst. Although, his injury doesn’t seem to be too bad at this moment in time, as he’s expected to be in contention for Sunday’s game. So, supporters will be praying that this doesn’t have a negative impact on their quest for a top-four place, as the midfielder could play a huge part on the field from here on in.

Landlord’s Verdict:

This is bad news for Spurs as the 26-year-old is one of their most valuable midfielders, with arguably the biggest game left in their campaign up next against Chelsea. So, supporters will be hoping to see him in the squad to face the Blues at Stamford Bridge, as this could give them the confidence to take all three points back to North London.
