The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are loving life with Harry Kane leading the line. Almost impossibly, the Englishman seemingly gets better every single week, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men clearly very lucky to be able to play alongside 24-year-old.
In truth, he’s quickly emerging as a Tottenham legend already, and so fans are desperate for him to remain at the club for the foreseeable future. Unsurprisingly, this is something that the Spurs brass are eager to see too.
Daniel Levy, who oversees all transfer dealings at Spurs, has always been a tough negotiator and has always been hesitant to let key players go, and it appears as though he is going to take a similar stance with Kane.
That’s no real surprise, of course, given just how strong the Englishman has been at leading the line at Spurs. He has already picked up 21 league goals this season, and he scored 29 last term. He’s truly emerged as one of Europe’s most lethal forwards, and so interest from other clubs is bound to appear over the coming months.
However, it appears as though any approach will end in disappointment for the interested party.
Kane is indispensable for this team, and the Tottenham brass clearly recognises that.
Given how much money the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have been sold for in recent years, you’d have to expect Kane’s potential value to be even higher – but even that won’t interest Spurs, it seems.
If Tottenham are to grow as a club, Daniel Levy needs to hold on to his best players. He can’t afford another Gareth Bale situation, so he’s clearly learnt from that error.
