It’s always nice to get a new face in the Football Transfer Tavern and today it is in the form of Graeme Yorke from the Daily Mail.
Once Graeme has introduced himself, got acquainted with a few of the punters and ordered the soup of the day, he begins talking about a potential exit from White Hart Lane. Well at this point every Spurs fan holds their breath…could it be Gareth Bale?
The suspense is building and just as I start to think that a rather plump Spurs fan is about to pass out, they all let out a collective sigh of relief as the player that Graeme was referring to was in fact midfield utility man Tom Huddlestone.
Hull City, Fulham and Sunderland, Graeme believes, are all interested in taking the 26-year-old, who enjoyed a successful return from injury last season and despite using him 29 times during the recent campaign Andre Villas-Boas is willing to let the former Derby County man go.
Graeme is unable to tell us who the front runner is but I tell you what – isn’t it nice discussing some other news coming out of Tottenham other than the oh so excruciating Bale saga?!
Anyway, that was a relatively quiet shift but we hope to have Graeme back in the tavern sometime soon.
Who will win the race to land Tottenham’s Tum Huddlestone this summer, if anyone at all? Let us know your thoughts below.
