Tottenham supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern displayed a mixed reaction to the latest reports that arrived at the bar.
Metro claim that Inter Milan are planning to save Erik Lamela from his Tottenham nightmare by taking the Argentine winger on loan in January.
The £30 million club record signing has struggled to adapt to the Premier League since his transfer from Roma this summer.
In his 12 games for Spurs in all competitions, the 21-year-old has only scored once and contributed with three assists for his new side. A majorly disappointing start for a player who is so highly rated and came at such a high cost for the White Hart Lane club.
It now comes as no real surprise to see the media linking the attacker with a move away from Tottenham especially after the player also confessed that he is struggling to settle in England.
Now a loan move in January appears to be on the agenda , and according to today’s reports, Italian giants Inter Milan have now approached Daniel Levy to thrash out a short-term deal until the end of the season.
Spurs are believed to think that this could be the best option for all parties, and could see Lamela return to Spurs in the summer with a new lease of life.
Some Lilywhites supporters in the tavern are dubious of this view with a strong opinion that the new signing hasn’t been given a proper run in the side under Ander Villas-Boas and he should be handed more time to prove himself.
