Tottenham supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are re-watching Christian Eriksen’s sublime goal in yesterday’s 3-0 Europa League success over Tromso on our big screen.
This is when a report from talkSPORT suggests that another of the finest talents in Europe could be moving to White Hart Lane in the future.
Reports indicate that Spurs could move for Juventus striker Fernando Llorente as he continues to struggle following his summer move from Atletico Bilbao.
The Spanish international had so far only featured for two minutes after his switch from La Liga and that has now seen him linked with a move away in January as he seeks regular football ahead of the World Cup this summer.
New signing Carlos Tevez and Italian internationals Fabio Quagliarella and Sebastian Giovinco have all started ahead of the formerly prolific 28-year-old in Antonio Conte’s plans and Llorente is already worried.
Andre Villas-Boas is thought to be on the lookout for another striker during the next transfer window despite securing Llorente’s international team-mate Roberto Soldado during the summer and that could see a potential bid for the misfit striker.
We have to admit that most in the tavern have their doubts about this story as it is still very early in the new campaign but as Juve landed the striker on a free transfer it is possible that they could cash in on him during January.
Can Spurs realistically land the Juve striker or is this more tabloid hype? Let us know your thoughts below.
