The Tottenham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate to know what Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino have got planned this summer as they look to build on two impressive seasons in the top four.
Having run the closest title challenge across the last two Premier League seasons, Spurs fans are desperate to see some tangible success during their season at away from home Wembley Stadium.
The rumours of right-back Kyle Walker leaving for Manchester City have been going around the bar here for some time now, and it seems the powers that be at Spurs are on the look out for a replacement.
According to reports from Le10Sport in France, the north Londoners have made the first moves over a deal to sign Monaco right-back Djibril Sidibe.
The French international, who scored for Les Bleus against England on Tuesday evening, comes very much in the mould of his Three Lions counterpart Walker.
The £15.3m-rated full-back, who was a mainstay as the principality side lifted their first Ligue 1 title in 17 years last season, loves to get forward whenever he can but has plenty of pace to ensure he rarely gets caught out. While it may seem the ideal match for Mauricio Pochettino’s setup, it won’t all be plain sailing with the reports from France claiming that Monaco are ready to stand firm against offers for the 24-year-old.
Spurs fans, we want to hear from you! Would you be happy to see Walker go if Sidibe was to be his replacement? Let us know in the comments below…Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
