The Daily Mail has become the favourite publication today here in the Football Transfer Tavern and it is all down to their claim that Tottenham Hotspur could well be set to land a £25 million forward.
The player in question is of course West Bromwich Albion star Saido Berahino who has made no secret of the fact that he will be looking to leave The Hawthorns at some point to further his career.
The Baggies ace has even gone as far as to hold an unsanctioned press conference recently stating as much and that certainly did not impress his current employers who are now reportedly willing to sell him in the summer.
That is music to the ears of Spurs fans and their manager Mauricio Pochettino with the club desperate to land a forward who can help ease the striking burden on sharpshooter Harry Kane, and someone who is not homesick for Spain or crying about getting booed by the home fans!
Spurs would face competition for the England Under-21 international forward but are leading the race and are willing to stump up the cash.
Spurs fans. Is £25 million on a one-season wonder just asking for trouble or do you think that Berahino is the man for you? Let us know your thoughts below.
