There are mixed emotions in the Football Transfer Tavern today as Newcastle United and Tottenham fans reflect on their Premier League results yesterday.
The superb Christian Eriksen was able to inspire Tottenham to grab a 3-3 draw at West Bromwich Albion but Newcastle fans are looking miserable after their fourth defeat in the row.
Alan Pardew’s side have already packed the towels and suncream, put on the sandals are ready for the beach it seems.
However both sets of supporters are intrigued with the latest speculation from talkSPORT with the publication suggesting that they could be both subject from a summer raid by Serie A outfit Fiorentina.
The Italian side are keen to add Tottenham’s Younes Koubul and Newcastle’s full-back Davide Santon to their ranks this summer.
The publication reports that Viola boss Vincenzo Montella is a big admirer of the Premier League duo and could step up their pursuit when the transfer window opens in July.
Santon, who joined Newcastle from Inter Milan, has been a key member of Alan Pardew’s defence for the past few seasons but he could be looking for a fresh start. While the 28-year-old Frenchman could leave White Hart Lane.
