Tottenham open negotiations for four huge signings

pochettino9Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting in rounds to optimistically celebrate after hearing that their side is making approaches to secure four sensational signings.

The Independent reveals that the North London side have opened negotiations to tie Mousa Dembele, Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Nacer Chadli down to new contracts.

Spurs’ established quartet have proved instrumental to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad this season, as a club record run of 13 Premier League matches unbeaten has seen the side rise to fifth in the table- well within the battle for Champions League football.

Dembele has 18 months remaining on his current deal whilst the other three have two-and-a-half years remaining but Spurs will make new deals for the four players a top-priority in the second-half of the current campaign.

Danish midfielder Eriksen is seen as a crucial part of the squad, whilst Dembele has enjoyed a revival this season and the club’s record-signing Lamela has finally found his feet. Meanwhile, Chadli is also making positive impressions.

Spurs fans gathering by the bar are excited by this news and believe it shows a major signal of intent from their board, as they aim to secure a spot in Europe’s elite competition next season.
