The Football Transfer is left intrigued as Mirror Football report that Tottenham are plotting a £15 million double bid for Ajax stars Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld as Andre Villas-Boas looks to take his summer spending spree to over £65 million.
Spurs are now vying with Liverpool for the duo with Brendan Rodgers also eager to land the highly rated pair this summer whose contracts both expire at the end of the season.
The White Hart Lane club have already splashed out £52 million on three summer signings as Villas-Boas looks to improve his squad ahead of the new campaign. Brazilian midfielder Paulinho, Valencia striker Roberto Soldado and Belgian winger Nacer Chadli have all arrived in North London.
Alderweireld has already turned down a move to the Premier League this summer after deciding against joining Norwich City despite the two clubs agreeing a fee for the 24-year-old Belgian international defender.
While Eriksen has already reportedly rejected offers from Italy, Russia and Germany and the coveted midfielder has already collected 36 caps for Denmark despite only being 21.
Eriksen has admitted that he wants to go to a club with history and prestige in the Premier League.
He said: “I am prepared to wait. I will only go where my heart wants to go,
“I am patiently waiting what will happen in the next few weeks. But I have said before I only want to go to a club where I feel I can play at my best and which suits my style.’’
