There are some surprise looks around the Football Transfer Tavern as Jamie Sanderson from Metro arrives for a post-work pint.
Sanderson, a regular in the tavern, explains to rather interested Spurs supporters that Tim Sherwood is considering a summer move for Everton forward Kevin Mirallas.
Sherwood, who replaced Andre Villas-Boas earlier this season, is understood to be putting together a transfer hit-list for the White Hart Lane club as they look to strengthen once again.
The Lilywhites spent over £100 million on fresh talent last summer after losing Gareth Bale but they could still miss on qualification for the Champions League.
Sanderson claims that Belgian international Mirallas is on their radar after some impressive performances for Roberto Martinez’ side this season.
Sherwood and Daniel Levy are thought to have appreciated the 26-year-old’s versatility, with his ability to play on either flank or as a central striker.
We think it is quite unlikely that the Toffees would be prepared to sell Mirallas to their league rivals but with a valuation at around £12 million, an offer could be submitted to test the waters.
While the former Olympiakos man has admitted that he is enjoying life with the Merseyside club, the chance to play in Europe with the White Hart Lane outfit is likely to prove an attractive prospect.
