Tottenham Hotspur fans enjoying a bite to eat in the Transfer Tavern this afternoon are pleased to see their side making steps in the transfer window, as they’re keen to see deals completed which will increase their chances of landing the Premier League title.
The Daily Mirror states Tottenham will revive their interest in West Brom forward Saido Berahino with an £18m bid in the next 48 hours, funded by the possible sale of Andros Townsend to Newcastle United.
Tottenham held vast interest in the England U21 star last summer, but failed to approve a move, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side have kept their eyes in the market for a potential striking partner for Harry Kane ever since.
22-year-old Berahino has been ousted from West Brom’s side throughout the season and it’s stated Tony Pulis is keen to get the forward off his squad list, as he wants the money to fund his own late moves in the transfer market.
Berahino has just 18-months remaining on his contract with the Baggies and has attracted vast interest from across the Premier League. However, Spurs’ current position and likelihood of landing a Champions League spot could be decisive.
Our landlord believes Berahino has the potential to become a star at White Hart Lane but he must be very careful not to land himself in any further trouble.
Spurs fans, is Berahino and Kane a strike force to win you the Premier League? Let us know in the comments below!
