There are some interesting claims in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening.
It is reported by the Daily Star that Tottenham are monitoring Anderlecht youngster Ismail Azzaoui ahead of a possible summer deal.
The 16-year-old is the latest Belgian talent to emerge on the scene and it is now understood that he has rejected a deal to remain with his current club.
This could see Azzaoui heading to White Hart Lane as Spurs look to bolster their Belgian contingent of Mousa Dembele, Nacer Chadli and Jan Vertonghen.
A move to the Premier League could see the starlet following the same path as Manchester United wonderkid Adnan Januzaj, who left Anderlecht in 2012 to join the Old Trafford club. He has since firmly established himself as one of the finest young talents in Europe.
Anderlecht’s Head of Youth Development Jean Kindermans revealed that any decision will be made by the player and his representatives.
Kindermans said: “When players become 16 we offer them a development plan and later a financial plan. We aren’t going to change our way of working.
“We’ve heard Spurs are interested in Azzaoui and it’s the player’s right to make a choice.
“We regret he’s going to be leaving us, but you can’t compare this loss to Adnan Januzaj’s move to Manchester United a few years ago.”
We think that he is a genuine target for the White Hart Lane club but what do you think? Let us know your thoughts below.
