Tottenham plotting swoop for England international

fosterIt is a situation of good news or bad news first for Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern after the latest claim from the Daily Mirror.

Our landlord says to go with the bad news first, so over a free pint we oblige.

The publication have claimed that Hugo Lloris is all but on his way to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, in a move that is of course a huge blow to the Lilywhites.

Lloris has made no secret of his desire to compete in the Champions League and with Spurs once again set to miss out – and looking like they will do the same for the foreseeable future, the French number one is upping sticks and leaving.

There is some good news – and that comes in the form of the player who has been picked out by Daniel Levy as the ideal transfer replacement.

West Bromwich Albion number one Ben Foster is currently leading the potential list of replacements, and that has gone down well with the majority of fans here in the tavern.

As one of our punters points out, we do not even know who will be in charge at Spurs next term – and they may well have their own ideas over who should be the man between the sticks.

Tottenham fans. Do you agree that Ben Foster would represent an adequate replacement should Lloris flee for the bright lights of Paris? Let us know your thoughts below.
