The Express reports that Tottenham are considering a summer move for former Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra.
Diarra is currently with Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia but the Frenchman could consider a return to England in the summer.
The Lilywhites could yet face competition from Manchester City for the 28-year-old midfielder, who also spent a short spell with Arsenal before signing for Portsmouth during the 07/08 season.
He had left Pompey to join Madrid in 2009 and had made a big money transfer to Russian money bags outfit Anzhi Makhachkala in 2012.
But he was part of the cull at Anzhi as owner Suleyman Kerimov decided to change his philosophy and was sold to Lokomotiv in August as he signed a four-year contract with the Russian outfit.
While Diarra is thought to be happy with life in Russia, a Premier League return could prove an attractive proposition. Spurs are thought to be favourites for his signature but Manuel Pellegrini has outlined the enforcer as a possible addition to his squad at the Etihad Stadium.
It is possible that Diarra would favour a move to City given the opportunity to play Champions League, while it is uncertain that this would be the case at Spurs.
Can you really see Diarra heading to White Hart Lane at the end of the season? Let us know your thoughts below.
