Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are busy discussing the potential ins and out at White Hart Lane during the current transfer window.
This of course comes after watching their side suffer an FA Cup third round defeat to North London rivals Arsenal.
Newly appointed Spurs manager Tim Sherwood must surely be hoping to improve his attack this month and today’s Sunday People suggests that they are plotting raid on Serie A giants Juventus.
Tottenham sporting director Franco Baldini has reportedly been tracking Juventus strikers Mirko Vucinic and Fabio Quagliarella and could now make an official offer for the duo.
Signing at least one striker has become a priority for the Lilywhites after it was revealed that Jermain Defoe is expected to complete his transfer to MLS outfit Toronto later this month.
His potential departure will leave the Lilywhites looking light in attack with just Emmanuel Adebayor and record signing Roberto Soldado for Sherwood to pick from.
Today’s reported Spurs targets have both played a reduced role for Antonio Conte’s side this term and the Serie A leaders could allow the pair to leave this month.
Spurs are likely to face competition for Montengro international Vucinic with Arsenal also thought to be watching the 30-year-old, who has 18-months left on his £3 million-a-year deal at Juve.
While Quagliarella, who only agreed a contract extension last year, has also been lined up by Premier League strugglers West Ham United but a move to White Hart Lane is likely to appeal more to the former Italian international.
Interestingly, reports today indicate another option for Spurs could be West Bromwich Albion’s Shane Long if the club decide to keep their money under wraps after spending over £100 million on players in the summer.
