Tottenham preparations for Arsenal clash given major boost ahead of the game

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to the return of the Premier League. Their side’s fine form was interrupted momentarily by the international break, but they’ll be hoping that Mauricio Pochettino’s men can pick up where they left off this weekend. A tough game against Arsenal is on the horizon, though, so it won’t be easy for Spurs.

Fortunately, however, Tottenham’s preparations for the game have received a major boost today, with a few key players looking likely to be involved on Saturday. According to Sky Sports News, the trio of Harry Winks, Dele Alli and Harry Kane have all trained today ahead of the game – giving Pochettino hope that they will each be fit to feature.

Each player, of course, missed out during the break through injury, raising a few concerns in the pub that their unavailability could extend through to domestic football. That, though, doesn’t look likely to be the case, with preparations for their next game well underway.

In the case of Kane, his return was expected, but confirmed that he is training was received well in the pub. He’s their most important player and their talisman in the attack, and so they wouldn’t want him to miss out. Dele Alli, likewise, is so important, serving as the barrier between midfield and attack. Harry Winks, meanwhile, has grown considerably in significance this season, and he has now emerged as a crucial player under Pochettino.

Optimism is certainly a lot higher amongst Spurs fans now.

Landlord’s Verdict

Pochettino will be sure not to overextend each player, of course, but if there is any chance of them being fit enough to play, he simply has to take the risk.

It’ll be a massive blow if any of those players aren’t available, and so whilst Arsenal will be hoping that at least one player doesn’t pass a late fitness test, Tottenham will be desperate for the opposite to be true.
