Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be keen on bringing Gareth Bale back to north London and could be about to make Real Madrid a huge offer to make that happen.
Los Blancos are keen on securing the services of the 27-year-old Denmark international, whose contract at Tottenham expires in 2020.
To allow their playmaker to leave, Spurs want to see the Wales international return and will allow a move to happen if they can land him for €40million plus Eriksen, according to a report by Don Balon.
Bale has fallen out of favour with the La Liga giants and it is believed the Spanish side are ready to offload him, although it is claimed that they want a transfer fee of around €150m.
The 29-year-old has made 30 appearances for Los Blancos across all competitions so far, scoring 12 times and making five assists.
However, he has struggled to complete matches under Santiago Solari, as he is yet to play a full 90 minutes in 2019, per Transfermarkt.
There will surely be some doubts over whether there is any truth in a deal involving Bale returning to Tottenham with Eriksen-plus-cash going the other way.
The Denmark international has played a huge role for Spurs since joining from Ajax in 2013 and the Premier League outfit will surely not want to lose him.
However, with a potential return for Bale on the cards, who has significantly improved since leaving north London, stranger things in football have happened.
