Tottenham prepared to offload Victor Wanyama

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make movements in the January transfer window as they look to strengthen their side.

Spurs failed to add anybody in the summer and their squad has started to show the effects of not having enough depth or fresh faces around the team, largely in part to injuries their players have sustained.

Despite wanting to make additions, Mauricio Pochettino could also be looking offload some of his stars, with one report claiming they could be prepared to listen to offers for one man.

According to The Sun, Spurs are prepared to let Victor Wanyama leave should they receive an acceptable bid for the midfielder.

The Kenya international has struggled in recent times to get back into the first-team, with the emergence of Harry Winks, as well as injuries, having had a major impact on his opportunities.

The Verdict:

Wanyama is still an excellent player and could likely do a job for another top side should Tottenham decide to sell him.

Spurs should not look to entertain any bids for him until the summer though, with the way their current squad is looking and he could provide them with suitable backup in key games.

However, the £27million-rated defensive midfielder, as per Transfermarkt, has found his opportunities limited in recent memory and could look to seek a fresh challenge in the near future.
