Tottenham prepared to wait until after the World Cup before considering offers

Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern will be with how their summer has gone so far, as they have failed to add anyone to their side.

Mauricio Pochettino is keen to make a number of signings this summer in order to strengthen his team after they came up short in the FA Cup and will want to see his squad of players compete for a number of trophies.

One way it was believed that the Argentine could bring in some of his rumoured targets is by selling some of his stars to help fund a move, however, reports are now starting to suggest that Spurs may not offload anyone anytime soon.

According to ESPN, Tottenham are not looking to sell any of their squad until after their main players return from their holidays following the World Cup. One of the reasons for the plan is because they will travel to America for a pre-season tournament and will have a thin squad during that time.

It is believed they would be prepared to entertain offers for fringe men, however, they will need to remain at White Hart Lane until the first-team stars return from their breaks.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Tottenham fans in the Tavern will be pleased that the club are not intending to sell any of their players until they all return from their extended breaks, although some will be concerned with the lack of arrivals.

Should Pochettino need to raise funds via player sales, the locals in the bar would be happy for someone to make way if it meant they could land one of their targets, although it does appear to be a smart way of doing things.
