For Tottenham fans so used to different stages of mediocrity every season, the fans in the Transfer Tavern are overwhelmingly pleased with how this season has progressed as they have the chance of winning their first league title in half a decade.
With the nerves increasing every week, some supporters have distracted themselves by discussing the usual transfer gossip that’s floating around and there’s one name in particular who had caught the eye today.
Talksport states Tottenham have joined Borussia Dortmund and Valencia in the hunt for Mainz highly-rated midfielder playmaker Yunus Malli, who has caught the eye with ten goals in 26 Bundesliga appearances this term.
The 23-year-old, who’s expected to be a crucial player for Turkey in this summer’s European Championships, has been a crucial part of a Mainz side that’s chasing a surprise Champions League spot, who currently sit two points off a top-four finish.
Spurs themselves are of course set for the Champions League and they’ve put their feelers out to see if Malli would be a suitable recruit, sending scouts to watch the Turk in action.
