Here in the Football Transfer Tavern we always like to follow the progress of teams in the Football League.
We have been particularly impressed with the blistering start Leyton Orient have made in League One.
Russell Slade’s side have only dropped two points from a possible 27 in their first nine games and sit proudly top of the third tier of English football.
One of the stars of their unbeaten start to the season has been winger Moses Odubajo and now Jamie Sanderson from Metro has popped into the tavern to explain that Tottenham Hotspur are now showing an interest in the 20-year-old.
Both Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly had scouts watching recent matches at Brisbane Road, but now it seems that Andre Villas-Boas is ready to bid £1 million when the transfer window re-opens in January.
However the East London side are understood to want close to £3 milllion and have no desire to sell, but the player could be very interested in a possible short switch across the capital and into the Premier League.
Villas-Boas has been given the go ahead to spend more money in January and there would certainly be room for Odubajo who can either play on the wing on at right back.
The Greenwich-born wide man is best known for his stunning speed and pace, and has previously spent time on loan in the non-league with St Albans City, Sutton United and Bishop’s Stortford before breaking through into Slade’s first team plans with the O’s.
Is Odubajo really a target for Spurs or are these reports better for the bin? Let us know your thoughts below.
