The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a few major changes at White Hart Lane this summer, and not all of it will be with regards to their new stadium…
Indeed, many in the pub are expecting a lot of changes on the field too – with Tottenham likely to invest heavily this summer in order to pursue a Premier League title next season.
Of course, funds don’t just come from thin air, and the Lilywhites will need to sell if they want to stand a chance of securing Europe’s best players – and it seems as though one player has already been placed in the shop window.
According to the Guardian, Erik Lamela may have played his last game for Tottenham, with the Argentine’s injury – which has ruled him out for the rest of the season – likely to spell the end of his tenure at White Hart Lane. The Guardian are reporting that Tottenham are now listening to offers for the talented Argentine midfielder, though, crucially, Daniel Levy will not look to sell him on the cheap.
It would be a disappointing end to Lamela’s Tottenham tale, with the winger coming in with so much promise. He has certainly improved year-on-year in recent seasons, but he has failed to really live up to expectation. On his day, there is often nobody better – with the winger offering dynamic dribbling, a goalscoring threat and incredible technical ability, but his day has just not come often enough.
